Install it
- Download Amnis from the official download page.
- Open
Amnis_x64-setup.exe. - Follow the installer, then select Finish.
Amnis installs for your Windows account only, so you do not need administrator rights.
If Windows SmartScreen appears
Amnis is not code-signed yet, so Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" the first time.
- Select More info.
- Check that the app is
Amnis_x64-setup.exe. - Select Run anyway.
To check the file yourself, compare it with the SHA-256 checksum linked on the download page.
Open it for the first time
Open Amnis from the Start menu. The first setup asks you to sign in, choose your language, allow the microphone and try the shortcut once.
Keep the app open while the first setup finishes.
Default shortcuts
- Hold Ctrl + Win to talk, then let go.
- Press Shift + Win to start and stop hands-free dictation.
- Hold Win + Alt to ask the Assistant.
You can change them in Amnis settings.
Uninstall
Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Amnis, and select Uninstall.
